At the annual fall cook-off fundraiser of the Star Rotary Club of Silicon Valley, Club President Can Aran introduced speaker Refika Celik, graduate of the Sparks Program in Turkey. Refika spoke about her experience with Sparks, telling how the program has changed her life.
For this popular club event, members prepared and served traditional Turkish appetizers, main dishes, and desserts in competition for the title “best chef” in the three categories. Funds were raised through at-the-door donations and the proceeds from a raffle. Half of the funds raised this year will benefit the Sparks Program in Turkey.
