Sparks Graduates
TWI’s impact is rooted in the continued evolution of the Sparks Program in Türkiye, led by Değişim Liderleri Derneği (DLD). For more than a decade, SPARKS-Türkiye has supported hundreds of young women through an experiential, learning-by-doing approach that helps them develop leadership skills, build confidence, and create meaningful pathways forward in their lives and communities. The program continues to grow and adapt, responding to the changing realities young women face today.
Building on this strong foundation, TWI extends its mission through SPARKS-USA, a high-touch leadership and professional development program designed to support young women navigating new lives in the United States. Each year, Sparks-USA works with small, intentional cohorts, offering workshops and mentorship across six thematic modules that focus on self-discovery, inclusive leadership, career growth, and navigating immigration and bicultural experiences.
Instead of classroom theory, participants step directly into action — designing and leading real social change projects that tackle pressing community needs.
Most Sparks students come from modest backgrounds, often the first in their families to attend university. Through the program, they gain not just leadership skills, but the confidence to stand on their own feet and say, “I can.”
Since 2009, Sparks has empowered over 800 young women from 55+ universities to grow as leaders and changemakers. What starts with one student’s journey expands into projects and stories that touch families, campuses, and entire communities.
With 80+ social change projects and more than 5 million lives impacted, each graduate carries the program’s spirit forward — proving that when women lead, change doesn’t stop with them, it ripples outward.
