TWI’s November Southern California fundraiser, “Stories of Courage” was a success on many levels. The highlight was the stage reading of the lives and dreams of Spark Program graduates in Turkey, performed by professional actors Lisa Cirincione and Tiffany Mulak, and accompanied by classical flutist Burak Besir. The event was a culmination of months of preparation by a cast of volunteers and professionals. Visiting Sparks Program graduate Refika Celik who is interning for TWI shared her own story and the positive impact of the program on her personal life and career plans. Event co-host Belgin Lore noted that “guests were profoundly moved and unanimously agreed that they now understand TWI’s mission and accomplishments and why we do this.”
A similar event is planned for Northern California early next year.
