In competition for a social responsibility project award from the Credit Bureau Financial Institution, Hanife Yalciner’s project came in second place in the health and sports category.
The competition is open to all university students in Turkey. Its purpose is to encourage young people to build awareness of social issues and take action. Hanife’s entry was one of 1,302 submissions from around the country.
The goal of her project is to reduce sugar intake among preschool children by educating their teachers and parents about the benefits of a low-sugar, healthy diet.
Hanife is studying nursing at Ege University in Izmir. After completing the Sparks Program, she is now a volunteer organizing activities for Sparks alumnae.
