Awards to Women We Have Honored

We recognize and honor local women for their hard work and service to their communities. We believe that women as well as men are needed to solve society’s problems and are committed to advancing women’s leadership in Turkey.

Here are a few from past years.

2012 – Tulin Atil

She has since been recognized by Garanti Bank and is now an Ashoka Fellow. In this photo, the award is presented by the DLD Coordinator.

2014 – Gülsüm Aslan

E3 Women we have honored--Gulsum Aslan 1Gulsum (right) is the wife of the mayor of Değirmendere, a village of Bergama. She was honored for promoting cultural tourism in an intimate way. For the last three years, she has been organizing the women of her village to host tourists at their homes, serving them home cooked meals and offering them the famous “Turkish hospitality.”
